GFIA is served by eight commercial passenger airlines, four commercial cargo airlines, two Fixed Based Operators, and is home to more than 100 private and corporate aircraft. At GFIA, the Kent County Department of Aeronautics is responsible for the management and operation of the airfield and airport facilities. The federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is responsible for the screening of passengers, carry-on baggage and checked baggage. The Federal Aviation Administration is responsible for air traffic control.
